3 games I want for Wii U now...
Now that Super Luigi and Pikmin 3 are out, I want them as well as Super Mario U. I'd love a bundle deal though (with game on disc). I'm not that pushed at all about Nintendoland.

So, Pikmin 3 will be more like the first game?
Miyamoto said recently that the new Pikmin will have a time limit like the way the first game does.
Pikmin 2 was widely celebrated by critics as not having the strict limit that the first game had.
So it's safe to assume they're not too happy about this.
I say it mightn't be a problem so I'll just approach it with an open mind. Just like I did with Paper Mario 3D and some other Nintendo games recently.
In fact, I'm finding that I'm having to do this more often... Oh well, those other times turned out well so why not.

Happy New Year 2013!
Well this is it! This is going to be the year of Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing for the 3DS and hopefully Dragon Quest VII. It's also going to be full of hesitation towards buying a Wii U. We still don't have an answer to our Virtual Console question and I will continue to glare at Nintendo until they come up with a straight answer.
We're definitely going to have some big announcements at this year's E3 since there aren't any more announced 3DS and Wii U games to look forward to after they all get released this year. They'll have to announce something to keep us interested.
I forgot about Pikmin 3 yesterday by the way. Must not forget again!

Moving house to my new 3DS XL (in painstaking detail!)
As I type this there are Pikmin transferring the data from the old 3DS to the new 3DS XL I bought today! There are also Pikmin arranged to form the percentage number of the process that's complete but their job is to just stand there. I wonder if it's boring for them watching their group moving various bits and pieces to the new system? Or are they glad they got out of doing that arduous task?
So yeah I got a 3DS XL since NSMB2 came out. Good thing I waited too because I got a bundle in HMV for 229 Euro which includes the handheld, NSMB2 and a third party charger(the deal would've cost more if I didn't get the charger, funnily enough)
I keep hearing about GameStop offering to transfer the data for you as a service. I can't imagine how they'd be able to do it at all. First, you have to charge your new 3DS XL when you get it out of a box, then you have to go through loads of prompts and confirmations and you even have to connect online as part of the process. Then these little Pikmin have to transfer all this stuff to the new system. This kind of thing you're much better off doing in the comfort of your own home as it takes hours. In any case it really isn't something you can do while waiting at the counter in GameStop.

Pikmin 3 the Real-time action-management game

I have to say that the New Play Control version of Pikmin 2 is great with Wii remote controls and that's a dead cert that this sequel will be a great game.
We see new stuff like Rock Pikmin and extra leaders whom you can delegate tasks to, adding an extra sense of depth to the action.
Miyamoto described this game as a "Real-time action-management" game. I always have a hard time describing this game to people who haven't played it. Whenever I say "strategy" people immediately start thinking of those PC strategy games or those Final Fantasy Tactics styled games.
Of course this isn't new to me or many other fans. The Pikmin series is 10 years old now can you imagine! I do remember buying the first game during the Summer months after the Gamecube launched. It's a series that never really got hugely popular but did have a good lot of fans.
The theatrics on stage with Miyamoto blowing the whistle and doing funny puppet stuff with a stuffed red Pikmin was fun enough. The way Bill Trinen walked out like a Pikmin and the way Reggie said he felt like a purple Pikmin was strange. Nintendo's PR entertainment always threads this fine line. It's very hard to describe how you feel when watching it.
There's one area where I have to commend them and that is putting a 3 in the title instead of some ridiculous subtitle. I hate titles with subtitles.
