New quick menu thing on Wii U is pretty nice

It's always nice to have measures to alleviate loading times or bypass loading screens altogether. Though of course, we didn't have to put up with sluggish firmware in the old days. *sigh*

Tropical Freeze has some long load times

This is one of the things everyone has noticed straight away. Nintendo games are better known for fast loading but it's been a plague of longer loading times during this whole generation, including Wii U and 3DS.

The online stuff loads surprisingly quick in comparison. Not only best times but replay videos too, which download really quickly.

Loading time of Wii U settings :(

Urgh... I hate having to go into the Wii U settings to change some small thing because it takes ages. I use 16:9 for Wii U games and 4:3 for Wii and VC titles, so playing a bunch at a time is a pain and I have to arrange it so I don't have to be going in there constantly.

Why does this have to be? A settings menu should not have loading times. The settings menu on the Wii for instance comes up instantly when you click into it.

3DS is also guilty of this, though I don't have to change the aspect ratio.

I've been watching some videos of this game and I like the way there doesn't seem to be any loading times! Yes! Nice work already SEGA!

Tried out Shifting World demo

I just don't know why a game like this has to have loading times. It makes no sense. The flash game upon which it's based is free and it makes for a better experience.

The other puzzles besides the one I just mentioned are ok. Not crazy about them, not in love with them, I just think they're ok.

Rumour Time! Wii U is going to have absolutely no loading times

It's been reported online that Nintendo have said that gameplay matters more than power. This apparently got a lot of fans online talking and eventually some rumours started to spread about Wii U's features. One came up that got me really excited and that is the prospect of no loading times for Wii U and its games.

Wouldn't it be great if it could be like the NES days where you'd press POWER and the title screen would immediately hit you in the face? And then if you pressed START the first level would immediately hit you in the face?

Man I can't wait. Nintendo! Please confirm!

There we go! I'm making a post out of this especially because noone else seems to be getting excited over the reporting of minimal loading times.

I think that's WRONG and we should be getting very excited about this! Loading times inconvenience the player and should be BANNED!

I'm very passionate about this issue so I would like to make a label called: "LOADING TIMES SUCK". Expect to see it now and again!
