James and Mike play Nintendo Land

http://cinemassacre.com/2014/05/26/nintendo-land-james-mike-mondays/

So this time the lads play this. The game's a curiosity of history at this stage so it's fun to see it explored like this.

James and Mike play NES Remix!

http://cinemassacre.com/2014/05/05/nes-remix-wii-u-james-mike-mondays/

Man, these guys are totally mah bros! I dunno what James sees in Dr. Mario though. I much prefer Wario's Woods.

James and Mike Mondays: Super Monkey Ball 2

http://cinemassacre.com/2014/04/28/super-monkey-ball-2-gamecube-james-mike-mondays/

Yeah! One of my favourite SEGA franchises and some of my favourite Internet personalities! James talks about how they played Super Monkey Ball in college and man... that makes him mah bro. Super Monkey Ball is one of my most played GameCube games and I always played in short bursts during breaks from studying as well.

AVGN Star Wars outtakes

http://cinemassacre.com/2014/04/17/outtakes-avgn-star-wars/

This was much funnier than I expected! We finally get an insight on that moment where the buffalo defecates through the window as well as some cool stuff regarding the beer droid. Also, a cringe inducing part about the mess that happened... yeeesh!

Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 118: Big Rigs Over The Road Racing

http://cinemassacre.com/2014/03/19/avgn-big-rigs-over-the-road-racing/

I really enjoyed this episode! I'd definitely say it's a crowd pleaser, not just because Big Rigs is an almighty spectacle to behold, but because I found this episode to be utterly charming. The Nerd doesn't swear an awful lot in this episode, which is an interesting point but I don't know if that necessarily contributes to my high enjoyment of it.

I never experienced Big Rigs myself except for that old game review where the guy just breaks down and cries instead of saying anything. The Nerd's take is even better and I really enjoyed experiencing this game through him.

The hypothetical advert he imagines in the end is a nice refreshing surprise and it's pretty funny too!

AVGN Rob the Robot with commentary

http://cinemassacre.com/2014/03/12/commentary-avgn-rob-the-robot/

I guess this is a little taste of what it's like to have the AVGN DVDs. Nice to have an insight on the production from James himself.

James & Mike play Super Mario's Wacky Worlds

http://cinemassacre.com/2014/03/10/super-marios-wacky-worlds-cd-i/

This is a really interesting type of game to play because it's unfamiliar to many, yet it's Mario which is normally familiar to everyone.

The lads cope with having to reset the console again and again by assigning a "reset bitch" and eventually they just end up using a long stick. It might be worth using a little stool or table near you upon which you can set the console. Consider the ergonomics of your session!

Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 117: Wish List Part 2

http://cinemassacre.com/2013/12/19/avgn-wish-list-part-2/

Ahahaha! And here we have the second part of the Wish List. The Nerd goes into a number of games and there are some good laughs to be had.

I bet the comments section is going to be full of people repeating "IT'S NOOOOT SHIIIIIIIT!".

By the way, another game by that company that's nooot shiiiiit is Bill & Ted's Excellent Game Boy Adventure — its title is an accurate description of the game itself!

Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 116: Wish List Part 1

http://cinemassacre.com/2013/12/17/avgn-wish-list-part-1/

Unusual episode but that's good because it's like the Nintendo Power memories episode!

I remember all those catalogues growing up too and the wonderful games and toys in them. The games cost so much back then too. He also did some Sonic games to fulfill some fan requests.

AVGN top 10s

Recently there've been postings of top ten Nerd moments of a specified theme being posted on Cinemassacre. I enjoy them quite a lot and I still get to see new new stuff with the fun "James and Mike" play series. I wonder what the next Nerd episode will be?

Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 115: AVGN Games!

The Nerd pays a loving tribute — in his traditional style — to the AVGN fan games made over the years and it's a wonderful episode! It promotes the new game that's available, it is genuinely appreciative of the fan tributes (in case you were worried!) and made me interested in them. It also has a very unexpected and classy cameo! Go watch it!

Now I'm gonna go check out the newly created r/TheCinemassacre.

Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 114: Alien 3

http://cinemassacre.com/2013/10/21/alien-3-angry-video-game-nerd/

We're in the thick of Monster Madness and James comes out with this video! Seriously though, watch his Monster Madness—the Gamera movies he covered earlier in the month were especially interesting to me. Also featured this year were some Universal and Hammer Mummy and Frankenstein movies as well as the Alien movies. He follows the Aliens movie review nicely with this Alien 3 game review.

Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 113: Tiger Handheld Games

I guess I forgot to blog about this one. The Nerd talks about the massive flood of LCD games that came out in the '90s. This kind of coverage I love because I lived during that time and I was amazed that there were so many. I had some of them myself!

Angry Video Game Nerd episode 112: Bill & Ted's Excellent NES Adventure

I spent the whole video waiting for him to mention the Bill & Ted Game Boy game, which truly is excellent*air guitar solo*. I was waiting for him to start playing it and be so surprised that it was so good that some explosion would happen due to some cosmic imbalance with LJN rainbows shooting everywhere.

Angry Video Game Nerd episode 111: Toxic Crusaders

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcuxGRO1wQA

Well here he is! Back and with a guy who looks a lot like Mel Brooks. This episode was good, different though. Seeing James' face crack up and burst out laughing is really funny in itself!

There's a distinct atmosphere to this episode... it feels like a "jam session" of sorts.

AVGN episode 110: Ikari Warriors

http://cinemassacre.com/2013/03/06/avgn-ikari-warriors/

Enjoyed this episode a lot with Kyle's music. Very jam session-y and lots of fun. It is great to see the return of Kyle. He and James work well together so it's nice to see them together like this again.

Be sure to look at the outtakes video too!

...and yes I fully support the idea of there being a Rambo & Commando movie!

The AVGN's relaxation tape thingy has a download now!

I blogged about this cool little thing James Rolfe put out a few months ago and forgot to blog about it again when he made it available as a download from his site. I nabbed it straight away because I enjoyed it so much!

You can get it from here:

James and Mike play NES Golf

http://cinemassacre.com/2012/12/30/nes-golf/
I'm not a huge golf fan at all but this is worth watching. The two lads talk about memories of other family members playing the game and the way their imaginations came up with different creatures that each hole on the golf course looked like.

It reminds me of the way I used to boredly watch my family members play sports games and the way my imagination came up with stuff too.

I like this chilled out hangout type of video by the way. The early AVGN videos had an element of this in them too.... actually you still see it in the recent ones too so hm... In any case this is quality time spent playing and talking about games and I really like that.

I know they seem like they're doing the Game Grumps but I still like it a lot! :)

What is the best alternative Christmas game?

http://cinemassacre.com/2012/12/22/whats-the-best-christmas-movie/

He's interesting as always, especially about Die Hard as an alternative Christmas movie, which is always an interesting conversation piece.

It's making me think about what the best alternative Christmas video game is. Going through my memories of games I've played over the years it actually didn't take me long until I came up with both Hotel Dusk and Last Window, neither of which are particularly heavy with the Christmas theme but both of them take place around Christmas and even have their moments.

The one moment that jumps out at me right now is from Hotel Dusk, where Kyle Hyde and the little girl are decorating a Christmas tree in the hotel storage room, surrounded by an unlikely yet likeable group of people who come together to have their own little party and appreciate what they have. It's a nice cosy moment in this detective story and you even get to place the decorations on the tree yourself.

Angry Video Game Nerd Movie trailer!

Official Cinemassacre link! :

http://cinemassacre.com/2012/11/10/avgn-the-movie-trailer/

I've been waiting a good long time for this! I'll have to wait longer again of course but at least we have the trailer here and it looks fun! I guess some things had to change for it to be done as a movie but I'll look forward to seeing it all the same.
